Role summary

As a Medior Data Scientist you will contribute to building, monitoring and optimising Generative AI (GenAI) solutions across diverse use cases. You will work with the Responsible GenAI squad to develop GenAI tools and APIs that improve customer journeys, streamline data processing, answer internal queries, and generate insights and reports. Your work will address responsible GenAI topics such as performance monitoring, red teaming, and evaluating models for fairness and bias.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build responsible GenAI solutions via performance monitoring, red teaming, and evaluations for fairness and bias
• Contribute to building, monitoring and optimising the performance of GenAI solutions
• Collaborate with peers, experts and stakeholders to deliver business value
• Work directly with internal customers to understand processes and systems
• Design cost-effective, reusable GenAI building blocks and APIs to be used across teams
• Collaborate with team members to solve critical or complex problems

Requirements

Experience

• At least 4 years of experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar role
• Experience building Generative AI applications and working with NLP and LLMs
• Experience with responsible GenAI topics: bias detection, monitoring and performance evaluations
• Experience identifying issues and opportunities across the ML development cycle
• Experience deploying, tuning and monitoring models with MLOps/DevOps for high-throughput services

Technical skills

• Strong programming skills, proficient in Python; software engineering experience is a plus
• Knowledge of discriminative and generative models and when to apply each
• Ability to write clean, reusable code; skilled in Git and CI/CD pipeline development
• Experience with ETL, data pipelines and data lakes
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure)
• Proficiency with APIs and API gateways (e.g. Kong)
• Experience with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with databases: SQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL and vector databases

Soft skills and leadership

• Passion for building clean, maintainable and testable production solutions
